Producer Lab Café

Common Ground Arts is teaming up with our friends at Edmonton Fringe Theatre for our next edition of the Producer Lab! On March 21 and 22, join us in the Café to meet one-on-one with any of three Edmonton producers we’ve invited to chat about the fun (and challenge) of indie theatre producing.

Bring in your show ideas, grant hopes and fears, “I don’t know who in this town does this thing” questions, process dreams – anything you want to bounce off a sounding board.

Registration is open now to book a chat with three rad producers. We’ve listed a few things they’ve got some specialty in and you can check out their bios at the bottom of the page for more:

CG Managing Producer Mac Brock
(Mac loves to talk about granting, marketing, contracting, budgeting, and more!)
Tiny Bear Jaws Artistic Director Elena Belyea
(Elena loves to talk about touring, pitching, granting, playwriting/new work creation, and more!)
or Edmonton Fringe Theatre Artistic Director Murray Utas!
(Murray loves to talk about directing, community building and outreach, devising, festivals, and more!)

With each slot, get 30 minutes to chat about whatever topics relating to indie theatre producing you’d like.

HOW IT WORKS:

Click to fill out the registration form and request your first, second, and third choices for who and when you’d like to meet. (You can also provide a longer list of all the choices you’d want!)
We’ll get back to you within 24 hours confirming who and when you’ll be meeting.
After March 15, if there are still slots available, you may get offered second and third meetings to hang out with more of the Producer Lab Café crew.
Show up to the Fringe Grounds Café at your scheduled time, grab a beverage on us, and hang out with your paired guest artist!

Registration is first-come first-serve and absolutely free.
