COMING TO FOUND FESTIVAL 2024
July 4-7, 2024
Created by Kevin Jesuino, Cass Bessette, Jean Louis Bleau
THE NATURE OF US is a devised sound installation featuring soundscapes, monologues, and choral music. The concept aims to give voice to natural elements for a more empathic understanding of nature.
In collaboration with nature, a choir invites the public to immerse themselves in the natural world through this acoustic experience. The audio installation takes place in a public green space or park, asking the audience to widen their listening field to involve everything from birds, trees, and the wind.
The initial creation was a collaboration with founding Co-Artistic Director of TRAction, Kevin Jesuino, and ARTIO choir directors, Jean-Louis Bleu and Cass Bassette. The work includes the voices of ten choral members and the ecological community located in the Edmonton River Valley.
Choral Performers
Astrid Janzen, Ben Van Dierendonck, Greyson Mannella, Liz Gieselmann, Quinn Smith, and Rayne Roussel.
Featuring drummer/vocalist Chantal Changnon.
