In spite of desperate pleas for his resignation from his crumbling kingdom, King Leslie — a ridiculous self-absorbed monarch at the twilight of his 93-year reign — clings spitefully to his tattered authority at the expense of his ailing subjects. But when his subjects come knocking at his door, he is forced to face them head on and fight for what’s rightfully his.
Through chaotic, durational proclamations, audience interactions, audience confrontations, and PowerPoint presentations, Reign Check is an absurdist satire of political power and the systems that sustain them.
