FF24 Music Series: Eve Parker Finley

Eve Parker Finley is a noted Montreal multi-instrumentalist, comedian, and new media artist. Braiding a dense and deliberate web of indie pop stylings, string arrangements, and classical naturalism, Finley has been a mainstay in the Montreal independent scene for nearly a decade. Her work has been featured on CBC, Canada’s Got Talent, Elle Canada, Exclaim!, Xtra, Recording Arts Canada, and other outlets. She is also a rising voice in the Canadian comedy landscape, host and creator of Ten Minute Topline with CBC Music, and Symposium Director at POP Montreal.

respectfulchild 敬兒 is a solo instrumental project based on Treaty 6 Territory. Their performances build soundscapes using just their violin through slow progressions of meticulous improvisation, bringing quiet to even the noisiest of rooms.

Changing her tonal delivery from one line to the next, Silvering turns the behind-closed-doors sincerity of bedroom pop into moments of emotional precision. Shalom Toy dispenses flowery songs with introspectiveness, reminiscent of moments that might occur sitting on the sidewalk outside of a house party.
