FF26 Music Series: Bad Bodies, Kip Lily, Digs

Rachel Burry, performing under the moniker “Digs”, hails from Newfoundland and is now based in Edmonton on Treaty 6 Territory (Amiskwaciy-wâskahikan). Influenced by artists such as Leslie Feist, Amelia Curran, and Karen Peris, her music flows between folk and indie rock. Through warm weathered vocals, electric guitar, and wistful writing, her sound captures a sort of coastal nostalgia.

After having begun performing locally this year, she is currently recording her debut EP, set for release late this summer.

In addition to her solo creative project, she is one half of Usable Parts- an experimental rock duo completed by Andrew Thorne.

Kip Lily is the folk project of multimedia artist Kelsey McMillan. Raised in rural Alberta, she often writes lyrics featuring landscapes and lessons from plants, animals and natural cycles, with her songs often taking on the form of folklore and fable. A lover of the experimental creative process, she enjoys being a perpetual beginner and exploring alternative recording techniques, collaborative songwriting and illustrating visual ideas sonically. As Kip Lily, she performs her compositions solo and with a full band. Her first album, Root Bound, was recorded in Edmonton and released in early 2026.

Born in 2018, Bad Bodies got their start jamming away in a snug attic. Combining the feel-good melodies of R&B with indie rock riffs and dreamy pop synths, they compose songs akin to paintings layered in warm pink, orange, and yellow. The resulting soundscapes build tension with confessional lyrics and infectious hooks, delivering a summer breeze of grooviness.
