Job Posting: Found Festival 2025

Common Ground Arts is seeking three contractors to join our 2025 Found Festival team. Applications are open until May 19, 2025 for the roles of Operations Coordinator, Festival Assistant, and Production Assistant.

Operations Coordinator

The Operations Coordinator will oversee the needs of the people and things that make our Festival run.

The ideal Operations Coordinator is a detail-oriented person who likes to look out for the human needs of the people who make events possible.

This role be working closely with our Managing Producer (Mac Brock), Box Office Manager (Giulia Romano), and Associate Producer (Sarah Emslie).

Duties:

    • Pre-Festival (50-60 hours):
        • Process and schedule the 10-15 amazing Festival volunteers;

        • Reach out to partners who might support our volunteer appreciation program;

        • Develop our pre-show and post-show patron communications; and

        • Support the Festival producers in developing our signage and wayfinding plan.

    • At the Festival (40-50 hours):
        • Oversee our Festival HQ to ensure all staff and artists get a warm welcome;

        • Track and filing attendance and financial reports for daily events;

        • Ensure each volunteer is where they need to be with the materials they need; and

        • Supporting the internal communications of our Festival staff.

Contract Details:

    • Fee: $2,500.00

    • Est. 2-10 hours per week June 1-July 6, est. 40 hours July 7-14
Production Assistant

The Production Assistant will support our Festival technical team in helping our artists look and sound amazing (and stay safe) all Festival long.

The ideal Production Assistant has experience in technical operation for live events and is eager to learn more about tech for a Festival environment.

This role be working closely with our Production Manager (Jennie Emms) and Technical Director (Frances Girard).

Duties:

    • Pre-Festival (8-12 hours):
        • Get familiar with the Festival team & project artists;

        • Assist the Technical Director in costing and sourcing equipment for Festival projects; and

        • Assist the Production Manager in building safety & scheduling plans for equipment and resources.

    • At the Festival (40-60 hours):
        • Make sure equipment gets where it needs to go and is set up and operated properly;

        • Run sound and lighting for select Festival projects independently;

        • Ensure our Festival spaces get treated with utmost care and respect; and

        • Support the Festival team in striking at the end of it all.

Contract Details:

    • Fee: $1,750.00

    • Est. 70 hours between June 23-July 14 with the majority of hours July 8-14

    • Driver’s license and access to vehicle highly beneficial (but not required)

    • The Production Assistant will need to lift est. 30lbs of equipment at a time and be prepared to work in any weather conditions.
Festival Assistant

The Festival Assistant will work closely with our programming team and volunteers to ensure Festival events run smoothly.

The ideal Festival Assistant is confident in public-facing roles and able to problem-solve quickly, creatively, and independently.

This role be working closely with our Festival Director (Whittyn Jason) and Associate Producer (Sarah Emslie).

Duties:

    • Pre-Festival (8-12 hours):

      • Get familiar with the Festival team & project artists; and
      • Support the producing team in getting supplies and materials.

    • At the Festival (35-40 hours):
        • Welcome Festival patrons and volunteers at events and problem-solve as needed to ensure the audience experience is safe, welcoming, and consistent;
        • Run last-minute errands and supply runs to support Festival operations; and
        • Communicate needs from Festival artists to other staff as needed.

Contract Details:

    • Fee: $1,250.00

    • Est. 50 hours between June 23-July 14 with the majority of hours July 8-14

    • Driver’s license and access to vehicle highly beneficial (but not required)
